Will I get any training?
Yes, you will receive some basic training during orientation. Also, you will always have the support of the directors and other mentors.
What type of girls want a mentor?
Through a filtered screening process, TMC serves girls who have found themselves in a difficult situation and who desperately want support, love and guidance
Are mentors required to help their teen mom financially?
That is not the intent of this program. Teen Mom Connection does have limited emergency funds.
The Five Components of Teen Mom Connection
Relationships
The program centers on relationships: the teen mom and her mentor, the teen mom and other teen moms, and ultimately, a relationship between the teen mom and Jesus Christ.
Support
As the mentoring relationship grows, the teen mom finds a great deal of support by having a non-judgmental friend to help her.
Encouragement
One of the goals of Teen Mom Connection is to encourage the teen moms to complete high school and to further their education.
Growth and Ejoyment
Teen Mom Connection provides creative projects, informational speakers, and enriching activities that allow girls to grow and have fun in a Christian environment
Share Christ
Teen Mom Connection shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the girls in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way. For many girls, this is their first experience hearing of God’s love or His plan for their lives.
